Diamond Discovery Review
SpinPlay likes to experiment with different trademarked features, like WowPot and Amazing Link, and sometimes they come up with something brand new as well. This is the case in Diamond Discovery, although similar things have been seen before. The trademarked PiggyPay system comes with scatter jackpots that increase when you land too few diamond symbols to actually win a jackpot.
This means that no diamond symbols are wasted, and wilds can turn into diamond wilds at random times to help you out. The top-tier scatter jackpot has a default value of 10,000x your stake, and all wilds turn into diamond wilds in the bonus round. The overall max win is a solid 25,000x your stake, but the mining theme comes across as a tad too bland and generic.
Diamond Discovery Slot Features
The premium symbols pay between 4 and 10 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the prospector is the Wild symbol. The wild steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins, and it also pays 20x your stake for 5 on a payline. All regular wilds may be upgraded to diamond wilds at random times, and these also substitute for the diamond symbols.
Landing between 5 and 20 diamond symbols and/or diamond wilds awards an instant cash prize, and the prizes are on display on the PiggyPays meter seen on the left-hand side. Landing less than 5 diamond and/or diamond wilds contribute to the PiggyPays meter. This increases the prizes won from 8-20 diamond symbols, and all prizes range from 1x to 10,000x your stake by default.
You need 3, 4 or 5 bonus scatters in view to trigger the Bonus Round, and this awards 10, 20, or 50 free spins, respectively. The PiggyPays meter is locked at the current level during the feature, and it does not reset if a prize is won. All wilds you land are always upgraded to diamond wilds in the bonus round, and there is no way to retrigger or get extra spins.

Review Summary
The trademarked PiggyPays system seems a bit incongruent with the miner theme, but we get that SpinPlay is probably gonna implement it in future installments with different themes. That being said, it comes with a nice twist compared to most instant scatter jackpot installments out there, and that is the ability to upgrade the jackpots.
This means that no diamond symbols go to waste, and we also like the wild turning diamond wild feature. It can make a big difference in the bonus round, as all wilds become diamond wilds, and the 25,000x potential seems solid as well. The visual presentation is not the most engaging we’ve seen in this genre, but other than that this mine shaft is well worth exploring.
